I spent two days in Zipolite and Puerto
Angel. Zipolite is famous for it's nude beach but I
gotta tell you I was disappointed. An old fat guy naked
walked down the beach one day, but that was it. I met
a lot of regular people though, a couple of Canadians a Swiss
and a couple of Italians. There were hardly any Americans,
I guess they were still scared to travel after 9/11.
The hotel I found was pretty good, I
think it was the Posada Paradiso. It was near the end
of the street that runs along the beach. They had a
little room off the "lobby" where they let me park
the bike and give it a wash. The room overlooked the
beach, comfy, $300 pesos per night. I found out later
that it was one of the highest priced places in town.
The only bad thing was that the maid ripped me off for $400
pesos. Still, the owners were nice even if they didn't
offer to give the money back.
Restaurant on the cliffs at
Puerto Angel

On the second day I went snorkling in
the bay in front of Puerto Angel with this Canadian guy.
Before leaving Cuernavaca, I had picked up one of those disposible
water-proof cameras and tried it out in the bay. The
instructions said it was good to about 5m depth. By
that depth it was too dark to get a good shot so you can't
expect much. Later, my buddy showed me this great restaurant
up on the cliff over the water, I recommend it!
This is the mascot of the
hotel next to mine. If you like coffee as much
as I do, you should stop in. |

Here, I thought I'd show
you the shot before enhancing with Photoshop (right)
and after (left). |
Here's a great web site on the south
coast of Mexico with loads of info about the Zipolite area.

So, after a couple of days
of sun, sea and rest, I headed out to my next stop, Juchitan.
